SECONDARY METABOLITES FROM HIGHER FUNGI IN VIETNAM: DISCOVERY, CHEMODIVERSITY, AND BIOACTIVITY

نویسندگان

چکیده

Medicinal higher fungi such as Ganoderma lucidum and Phellinus igniarius have been used alternative medicine remedies to promote health longevity for people in Vietnam other regions of the world since ancient times. Nowadays there is an increasing public interest secondary metabolites those discovering new drugs or lead compounds. Current research drug discovery from medicinal involves a multifaceted approach combining mycological, biochemical, pharmacological, metabolic, biosynthetic molecular techniques. In recent years, many isolated are more likely provide compounds discovery, which may include chemopreventive agents possessing bioactivity immunomodulatory, anticancer, etc. However, numerous challenges encountered including bioseparation, identification, metabolism, screening model issues, Commercial production mushrooms still limited mainly due less information about metabolism its regulation. Strategies enhancing metabolite were continuously developed.

Bioactivity of secondary metabolites and thallus extracts from lichen fungi

Fungal secondary compounds and total extracts are known to affect growth of bacteria, fungi, and plants. This study tested the effects of purified compounds and total extracts from three lichens on the growth of two plant pathogens, Ophiostoma novo-ulmi ssp. americana and Sclerotinia sclerotiorum. Usnic acid showed no reduction in relative growth rates (RGR), whereas vulpinic acid reduced RGR f...

Exploring the Chemodiversity and Biological Activities of the Secondary Metabolites from the Marine Fungus Neosartorya pseudofischeri

The production of fungal metabolites can be remarkably influenced by various cultivation parameters. To explore the biosynthetic potentials of the marine fungus, Neosartorya pseudofischeri, which was isolated from the inner tissue of starfish Acanthaster planci, glycerol-peptone-yeast extract (GlyPY) and glucose-peptone-yeast extract (GluPY) media were used to culture this fungus. When cultured...

Novel Secondary Metabolites from Endophytic Marine-derived Fungi

The marine-derived fungus Stachylidium sp. was isolated from the sponge Callyspongia cf. C. flammea. Chemical investigation of the bioactive fungal extract led to the isolation of the novel phthalimidine derivatives marilines A D (1-4). The absolute configuration of the enantiomeric compounds 1 and 2 was assigned by means of theoretical Circular Dichroism calculations. The skeleton of marilines...
